TS 10/1/20

 I met with Saad tonight and we practiced listening. I gave him some background on crime films and what they focused on. We discussed popular themes in crime films and how important a director's role is in a film. I also introduced low-frequency idioms that he would need to know for the film scene we watched. We then watched a scene from the film Pulp fiction. We discussed what the film was about, what he liked about the film, and discussed the closing question about evil in the world and trying to be the Shepard that helps others. This session was good for him since he knew the actors in the film and learned more about American culture and idioms to use in conversation.
