TS - SANGHUN - October 16, 2020

Sanghun started the session by telling me about his favorite baseball player. His favorite player is a South Korean pitcher who plays for the Toronto Blue Jays. We also discussed his favorite soccer player, another South Korean who plays for Tottenham. Ironically, I had just watched the Tottenham game a few days before so we had a good dialogue about soccer, tactics and the general lifestyle of professional athletes. I asked him about what he thought about athletes and how they are paid. He engaged in a good dialogue and asked me questions about what I thought. This was a good sign to me because it shows he is really getting comfortable and able to get out of his shell more. This was his goal from the beginning so I feel like our sessions have really helped him improve his confidence as well as his speaking ability. Sanghun and I discussed his research and how it was going and he and I discussed some of the vocabulary he uses on a day to day at his job. He told me that he feels better at work with his English which was also great to hear. Finally, we did the same tongue twisters we have been doing and the improvement I have witnessed is clear! He doesn't struggle getting through the tongue twisters at all anymore! Today was another great session and I love to see how much he has improved in conversational dialogue.
